Gorman, as he is called by nearly everyone that knows him (some family included), has been in the trenches of the 'net starting before he was even of legal age to work. He's traveled the bumpy .com road, which has provided him tremendous insight and fun dinner-time stories. Gorman is currently involved with ImThere—a user-driven website for users' events and interests that tightly integrates with mobile phones.
In 1999, Gorman started DeskMod—a community site for application skins, themes, and wallpapers. DeskMod grew to 70,000 loyal users and nearly a million page-views per day. This traffic was due in part to the impressive partnerships DeskMod formed with AOL/Winamp, Mozilla, Sonique, Konfabulator (now Yahoo! Widgets), and others.
Gorman later launched ModBlog—a fully customizable, community-based blogging service—along side DeskMod. ModBlog became even more successful, with 275,000 close-knit users and over 3 million page-views per day. Both ModBlog and DeskMod were acquired in December 2004.
Presently, Gorman is part of Ramped Media, Inc., which he founded in February 2006. Ramped's first project is ImThere, which launched nationwide in June 2007. Ramped has been self-funded to date, and is now looking to take on a round of financing.
