Dylan Schiemann is CEO of SitePen, Inc., a technical consulting and web application development firm in Palo Alto, CA. A JavaScript developer by trade, Dylan thoroughly enjoys the intricacies of business and at SitePen, Inc., he's able to fulfill two passions; hard-core programming and negotiating the next great project. His other passion and professional endeavor includes advocating open source technology and in 2004, he co-founded the Dojo Toolkit, a JavaScript library that streamlines professional web development.
His latest interest lies in browser-based vector graphics and he's constantly pushing for greater browser support for native implementations of SVG. Dylan's drive stems from the desire to loose his gargantuan artistic ability on the world and prove that he too, can draw a circle.
Previously, Dylan has played key roles in developing web applications for companies such as Renkoo, Informatica, Security FrameWorks, and Vizional Technologies. He received his M.S. in Physical Chemistry from UCLA and his B.A. in Mathematics and Chemistry from Whittier College.
