Josh is a web developer and podcaster living in Cincinnati Ohio. He is one of the founding members of Steelpixel, a small design, development, hosting, and consulting firm. He spends most days striving to write beautiful code.
He has been hooked on computers ever since his parents bought him that first Atari 800XL back in 1986. After moving onto the internet in 1993, he started his foray into gaming online (mudding). This affinity for gaming lead him to form a lanparty community in 1998, in the Cincinnati area, with his future Steelpixel partner, Chris Saylor. Various needs for the lanparty brought both of them in touch with technology such as web hosting and PHP.
They started a small web hosting company in 2001 and took a friends and family approach to marketing it. Around 2003 they decided to grow it even more by trying to spread the word on the net. In spreading the word and their constant search for new technology, it lead them to podcasting. Josh took the lead and started studying how to produce quality audio. It has been a long journey (just listen to Web 2.0 Show ep1), but now he provides audio & skype tips to many technical podcasts; Vitamin, Ruby on Rails, Boag World, just to name a few.
Josh likes to spend his free time with his son in between trying to glean a tan from his bright LCD laptop display.
