In this presentation, Denise Wilton, designer at Moo.com talks about how to build web apps that not only work well, but have their own special character and personality.
As well as sharing tips from her design experience, Denise discusses the important role that copy plays in building a credible, likeable web app too.
This session is from Future of Web Design London 2007, hosted by Carsonified. You can listen to all the event MP3s and download Denise’s presentation at the FOWD past events page.

Are the slides available anywhere?
Cheers
I really liked this presention and it’s something I’m going to think about in the future when designing web applications.
I have one question though;
Do you have any thoughts about giving an in-house business web application character? Should it be done to get that user buyin?
Cheers
Stephen
@Pierre: Slides are available here: http://www.futureofwebdesign.com/presentations/denise_wilton.pdf
would be nice if the actual presentation video would load.
Nice presentation. It is very easy to forget about what your typography is actually saying, especially when you’re in the bowels of your app. Always good to have a reminder to try to look at it objectively.
I’d be happy to listen to the audio (mp3) but the link in the Past Events page is broken.
Thanks for bringing up this presentation.
Just starting out with educational design and development as a website. Presentation gave me a nice perspective to start with. Many thanks
